  Another Church Scandal
Not long ago I posted a link to the Ryan Report, which detailed abuse that had happened in Catholic boarding schools in Ireland. Another report that came out this week is making headlines now - this time about abuse in the Dublin area over the last 30 years and how Church leaders consistently covered it up. If you want more information, click here for an article from the Irish Times.

  Speaks For Itself...

Actually, it's not just clouds. We've had so much rain recently that some of the cities around us have flooded severely. Ireland is used to rain, so when I say "so much" I mean it!

  Calendars

The boxes in the picture above are full of many thousands of Scripture calendars that will be given out across Ireland. Yesterday, Seth helped sort through them so that they would all make it to the churches and individuals that ordered them. He took a car-load back to Youghal, too!

  Friends
video

This is a short video Seth made with a guy from youth club to illustrate a lesson on prayer. The point is that we know it's bad to treat our friends this way, but it's exactly how we tend to treat God a lot of times. Enjoy!

  So It Begins
Daniel's obsession with letters is starting to pay off: he is now sounding out small words on his own. We are thrilled, partly because we're getting tired of constantly hearing the alphabet repeated all day long!

  Prayer Meetings
Tuesday there was a joint prayer meeting for evangelical churches in County Cork. Yesterday our weekly church prayer meeting was in our front room. Today there was a prayer meeting for youth club leaders. Tomorrow there's a monthly prayer meeting for a group of churches. "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain..."

  Back In Ireland

The conference in Switzerland really was wonderful, as was the setting. The picture above was the view from our window. We were definitely encouraged by our time there! There's more pictures in the gallery. We got home Friday and kept Daniel away from the front door Saturday night - he does NOT like most Halloween costumes!
